The one and only Asain Cajun Tommy Terrific made my sister's 16th birthday very special he is truly a one of a kind guy. Shinto will certainly get our return business so we can see my man T again!!!

Delicious an excelent presentation

The sashimi was awesome. Also had the chicken hibachi. Prices seem a little high for chicken and noodles but it was cooked perfectly.

Good food, good service & reasonably priced.

Today was my birthday and I always come here for my birthday dinner. They ALWAYS make you feel special and the food is absolutely delicious. We didn't have to wait long at all for our hibachi and it was a busy night. Their food and service is top notch!

Food was amazing! We did the hibachi and had a great time. However, the service other then the chef wasn't very great... I ordered a sushi roll on the side and never got it and we weren't asked about what kind of drinks we wanted until the chef was in front of us cooking

Their fried rice is awesome and so is the portion, worth the price. I also recommend the tempura udon, it comes with substantial amount of veggies and prawns.

If I could leave this review zero stars, I would however in order to let me make others aware of the most horrible experience I have ever had! For starters they rushed threw our dinner. Also the most unprofessional chefs who are complete slobs they dropped a spatula and got food all over my husband attire with out any apologies! I wouldn’t take my dog to this establishment!

As much as I loved their food, I was not happy with their service the last time I visited. I felt rushed because they were closing. I would've preferred they turn down our service than to take us in and then rush us. I do understand that they were closing soon but I didn't like being rushed. We traveled 30 minutes to get there and ended up boxing up the majority of our meal and it was cold by the time we got home so that was a bummer. I absolutely love their food but the experience trumped the food this time.

My first experience at Shinto will be my last. There is a white board with cocktails on it hanging above the bar. Our server could not tell us what was in some of them so he went and got the bartender, she also could not explain what was in some of the drinks. We ordered salads and sushi roles. We received our salads but an hour later we still didn’t have the roles. I asked the server about them and was told they were coming right out. Fifteen minutes later, still no roles. We asked for the check and the roles were on the check. I told our server we had never received the sushi roles and he had to go ask the manager what to do. The manager then rushed to the sushi counter and told the cooks not to make the roles cause we were leaving.

Tempura soba soup a little too sweet for my liking, otherwise really good, it comes with a big basket of tempura.

Would surely recommend visiting this place. Great vibes, delightful dishes, awesome customer service. They never disappoint.

For every dollar you put on that bill, you'll definitely get back a more-than-fair meal in return. The sushi was both beautiful and well flavored. There is seemingly endless options for the sushi. Their salads are also quite wonderful. They're not expensive and will yield actually a very satisfying meal. The staff here maintain a great level of kindness and service. Our experience was very pleasant.

The food was fine but I had to wait for about an hour and half to get my food. I was disappointed at the service I got!

Very nice place with a great experience. I have a weird allergy to most veggies and the chef was understanding and made sure my meal (chicken with fried rice. Very very good. Highly suggest it) was veggie free. Came with miso soup and salad. Good service and good hibachi show.

This restaurant has excellent food and chefs, but the service is terrible. Other than the bartender who makes wonderful drinks. I went last night for dinner with my family. Before walking in we noticed 2 servers in uniform sitting on the ground by the front door smoking. Our waitress looked and acted like she would rather be doing anything other than her job. Walking out the door our waitress was sitting on the ground directly next to the front door smoking and playing on her phone. The food is so good here I just wish the owner or manager would take the time to clean up their wait staff and teach them manners.

You know, I've been eating here for years, and one day I'll actually try the hibachi, but the sushi here is just so good, I can't ever bring myself to skip it. Pricing is pretty much what you'd expect, but the quality is on par with more expensive places. And if you are trying to do sushi on a budget, their spicy tuna roll is pretty affordable and the best I've ever had.

Went there for the first and LAST time. The food was good but I couldn't finish after I saw a huge cockroach crawling on the wall behind the sushi bar. The workers saw it too and just let it keep walking until it went behind the to go boxes

Bought food for 3 of us to go. All I had was a combination fried rice. It was very good and it was a large portion. Ate half that day and finished the rest on the following day.Highly Recommend.

Great service topped off with delicious food

I have been going here for years. My food has always been great. The sushi is just the same if not better sometimes than Tsunami, although I like Tsunami miso soup and cucumber roll much more. I have had raw sushi at both places and to me its the same grade and always tasted great, plus I am still alive.The prices here are very reasonable, the staff has always been friendly and welcoming. If you're an out of towner and want a casual sushi experience with great tasting food this is the place.👍😎🇺🇸

The kids loved it and so did the parents! As parents to 3 young children, I can definitely say those moments of seeing your kids in awe from the coming experience and them enjoying their meal is priceless. A great time.

The sushi is some of the best I've had and the Hibachi is fun and fantastically delicious (you will get significant sodium and fat with the Hibatchi so not for the feint of heart, or those with a serious heart condition).

The hibachi chicken my wife and I ordered here was a little dry, but the fried rice and salad were top notch. Also, the sushi rolls looked fantastic. At the end of the meal, we were brought two warm hand towels. These towels smelled absolutely fantastic and left my hands feeling as soft as they ever have. Really a nice touch for a small hibachi restaurant!!!

OMG! It was so much fun! It's my sons 23rd birthday and my mother had never been either. So it was a blast for all of us. My son caught the bite of egg with his eye instead of his mouth. They even accommodated his shrimp allergy and cooked his steak first. It's a little hard to find the restaurant though. It's right next to Sky Zone Trampoline. I'd very highly recommend them. It was a great day!

We always come here for date night and sit at the sushi bar! The sushi chefs are awesome and hilarious! They treat us extra special every time we come in! I strongly recommend you come in and sit with them. By the end of the night we end up tipping them just as much as our server!!

Good food. Went very late, close to closing time so there were not that many people there. Good prices too.

Very good Hibachi and sushi.

The hibachi table cook was very entertaining and our grandchildren really liked his performance. The food was very tasty and plentiful. It was a positive experience. We had the hibachi salmon, shrimp, scallops, beef and chicken with either soup or salad, fried rice & veges. Also some had the sushi. Everyone enjoyed their food.

I enjoyed the food and the experience. Strongly advise the Hibachi; very entertaining. The chefs are talented. I prefer chicken and beef here, not so much the seafood. The salad is uniquely refreshing. Lighting is easy on the eyes. The waiter was attentive, helpful and prompt.Great experience!

I would normally give this place a 5 start due to the fact that I’ve been coming here for years and love it so much! But today i ordered a pick up order and show up 30 mins late we were told we had to wait another 15 mins for it to ready with was fine. Another 30 pass until the hostess realized we didn’t get our food and checked with the kitchen that our ticket had been lost. So it is going on a hour since i have ordered my food and they can not refund me any of my money back due to manager not being here.

Most reliable Sushi in Lafayette. Great portion sizes (the amount of actual fish in each roll is very generous compared to other places in town), large selection of rolls with distinct differences in flavor. Staff was very friendly, food came out fairly quick , Overall a fantastic experience.
